So our journey begins. Very relieved that we were able to take everything that we wanted even though we had to shuffle things around a bit. It would have been nice to know that any extra baggage could weigh up to 70 lbs instead of the 50 that we first thought :). Next time.
We walked the airport since we had well over an hour before we had to board. Veronica, Michael and I tried to do a fast walk since we knew we would soon be sitting for a long time. I knew the kids were a bit sad and worried before going so I asked what were they worried about. Veronica said that she was worried about the bugs that would be there and about missing everyone. Michael was more teary and was worried about missing everyone too and not making any new friends. He kept talking about when we were coming back. Tom and I were both excited and relieved to be finally going. After listening to the kids though I wondered if we made the right decision but I thought a year goes quickly. The flight to Vancouver was packed but good for us. Tom liked how something was dripping on him though and the fact that someone else put her carry-on by his feet.
