Right in Our Own Backyard
After eating our fill of apples and oranges coming from a Canadian winter fresh fruit is heaven, especially since we can pick fresh peaches and nectarines off the trees in the backyard. I think we have also eaten watermelon everyday since we have been here.
Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day isn't really big here. They usually don't do anything at school for it. We decided to have a party for all of the Grade 1/2 classes. I missed the students having exchanging the little Valentine's cards but the kids loved our party anyways. I decided to make cupcakes for the three classes. Thank goodness Veronica was helping. It took quite awhile because I should have checked to see how many muffin tins they had. Baking 80 cupcakes with one tin took longer than I thought :).
Inverloch Beach
This beach is only an hour and fifteen minutes away. It is gorgeous there. Veronica and Michael swam in a tide pool and there were rock crabs scuttling along the bottom. It was an amazing day. We will definitely be going there as much as we can.
Silvers Circus
So the plan is that every weekend we do something special or go see something new. We heard about the circus and thought sure why not. We had been to one when we were in Queensland so we decided to give this one a go. We didn't have really high hopes but we thought it is a Friday night out. We were so impressed and couldn't believe how good it was. It was worth every penny.
We couldn't take photos inside so I had to take lots outside. Week one of school is done.
